Is Tightening Laser the newest laser for Laser Facelift?
Titan utilizes a safe, infrared spectrum of light that this delivered to the dermis well below the outer skin's surface. There is no down time and no external injury to the skin. There are no external wounds to care for. A person can return to work right after the procedure.
How does the Tightening Laser work?
The Titan laser works by having the laser's light react with the water that is within the deeper layers of the skin (dermis). The energy released between the light and the water causes the water within the dermis to heat up. The elevation of the skin's temperature is only to a certain temperature that is favorable for collagen contraction. This light generated heat causes immediate collagen contraction within the dermis of the skin.
What does set apart Tightening Laser from other lasers?
Titan employs light energy because it provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis than other energy sources, such as RF (radio frequency).
What areas respond best to the Tightening Laser procedures?
Patients have been successfully treated on many areas on the body where skin is lax. Loose skin on the abdomen, back of the upper arm, along the jaw line and under the chin, have responded particularly well to the procedure. The face is the most commonly treated area, especially for improving the jaw line and neck laxity.
There is limit to how much the Tightening Laser will correct. Severely aged skin with photo-damage and extreme wrinkling would not be considered candidates for the Tightening Laser procedure.
Who can be treated?
Since tightening procedure is heating tissue under the skin's surface, patients of any skin type can be treated. Men and women of the 30-60 ages have been successfully treated. The age is not the most important factor to determine who can be treated with Tightening Laser. It is the quality of the skin, and the degree if skin laxity that are the most important when assessing the candidacy for a Tightening Laser.
Realistic expectations are important to maintain. People with loose skin and subtle jowls and neck laxity respond the best to the Tightening Laser. Patients with extreme laxity or more demanding expectation are still better served by traditional means of plastic surgery and face-lifting. Patients who have a great deal of fatty tissue can not expect to have the skin tighten in the neck or the back of the arms.
Improvements in the stomach are also very exciting buy must be tempered with the realization that stretch marks do not go away with this laser or any other one for that matter.

Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in treated area. Both should dissipate within a few hours. Please visit the office for complete information on the benefits and risks of treatment.
