Facelift (Rhytidectomy)
Facelift surgery is designed to reverse the visible signs of facial aging, including the formation of jowls which obscure the jaw line, the occurence of a double chin and the appearance of vertical bands of the skin and muscle in the front of the neck. Modern rhytidectomy techniques involve resuspending the deep connective tissues of the face and allow the face and neck skin to be elevated and produce a natural rejuvenation. These techniques avoid the "plastic" or stretched appearance so common with facelift surgeries in the past. The surgery is typically performed without the need for general anesthesia and a 1 to 2 week recovery period is usually necessary after the procedure.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Blepharoplasty surgery corrects the signs of aging in both the upper and lower eyelids. More than 100,000 men and women undergo the procedure every year to remove puffiness and "bags" under the eyes as well as excess skin which may even impair vision. Eyelid surgery is easily done under sedation or local anesthesia and produces a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance. The procedure is commonly performed individually but is also combined with a facelift, forehead lift or laser skin resurfacing.

Nasal Surgery (Rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty has become one of the most popular facial plastic surgical procedures in recent years as more and more people seek to change the appearance of their noses. Many are unhappy with the nose they were born with while others have had the shape of the nose distorted from an injury. Disorders of nasal breathing and sinusitis often complicate the situation. A range of techniques are used to fully address the desired change in appearance as well as to improve nasal breathing and correct chronic sinus infections. Sinus surgery, if indicated, is done endoscopically to avoid any visible incisions. Rhinoplasty may be performed under general or sedation anesthesia on an out-patient basis. Most health insurance plans still provide some coverage for functional nasal surgery and sinus surgery.

Facial Liposuction
Liposuction removes fatty deposits in the neck and along the jaw line. These deposits are often responsible for the occurence of a double chin in patients as young as their late 20's. The surgery permanently and effectively removes the excess fat under the chin and is often combined with a tightening of the neck muscles to provide long term improvement in the neck line. The procedure is typically done under mild sedation or local anesthesia in an out-patient surgery setting.

Forehead Lift
The forehead area is often one of the first regions of the face to show the signs of aging. Gravity produces a downward movement of the eyebrows and can produce a tired, scowling or saddened appearance which does not reflect the way the individual feels. Forehead lifts are done either with a traditional incision across the upper scalp or with the use of an endoscope and several small incisions placed well behind the hair line. The surgery also helps reduce or remove deep creases in the forehead skin as well as the vertical frown lines between the eye brows.

Laser Skin Resurfacing
The Erbium-YAG laser is designed to remove or decrease wrinkles and improve the overall skin texture of the face, neck and hands. Sun exposure, age and personal habits combine to give the skin a wrinkled, freckled or dried out appearance. Laser skin resurfacing with the Erbium laser is done under local anesthesia in the office setting with minimal discomfort compared to older Carbon dioxide laser systems which require extensive anesthesia and a longer healing time.

Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)
Large or protruding ears can be corrected to produce a natural appearance with no visible signs of surgery. The procedure may be done as early as age 4 or 5 and at any point therefter. Adults usually require only local anesthesia but young children typically benefit from general anesthesia.
